  1. I don't think this question belongs in the Space section. Try Mathematics.

    P.S.: The distance is 3.5


  2. All you need to do is add the absolute values, 1 and 2.5.

  4. This is very simple math (not sure why its in Astronomy & Space).

    Pick a spot on the floor.

    Put one ball 1 meter to the right of that spot.

    Put a second ball 2.5 meters to the left of that spot.

    Measure the distance between the 2 balls (its 3.5 meters).

    See, simple math.
