  1. Just "plug and chug!"

    D = R * T

    where:

    D = Distance

    R = Rate (6 mph)

    T = Time (in hours)

    D = (6 mph) * (1/2 hour) = 3 miles

    You can do this one without pencil and paper also.

    If a bird flies at 6 mph, he will cover 6 miles in one hour.

    So he travels for half an hour, his distance will be 1/2 of 6, which is 3.

    here t=0.5 hours...u need to convert all units into hours before u do calculations
