assume the earth to be a sphere with a radius of 3960 mi. the distance from pole to pole is about 27mi less then the diameter at the equator

    Therefore distance from pole to pole is irrelevant and radius of the celestial sphere is 3960 mi

    90 degrees x 1265/3960= 28 degrees 45 minutes
