  1. 1.) 17, 27, 39 (I forget what its called... Its not linear, not exponential... the other relationship)

    2.) 125, 216, 343 (cubed numbers)

    3.) 8, 13, 21 (add the last two numbers together)

  2. The one who asked you doesn't know how ignorant she is.

  3. Snow Prince's answers look right.  If you want to annoy the c**p out of whoever asked you that, you can solve the third one a different way:

    1,1,2,3,5

    1(+0),1(+1),2(+1),3(+2),5(+2),7(+3),10...

    There's at least 2 other ways I can think of to find a pattern in this one.  You can multiply instead of add, or you can count it as a 1, 2, 1 pattern instead of just a 2, 2, 2 kind of pattern.

  4. 1) 3,-1,-3,-3,-1,3,9,17,27,39

    pattern : diff between numbers: -4,-2,0,2,4,6,8,10,12, etc

    2) 0,1,8,27,64,125,216,343

    pattern:

    log (base of 1) 1 = 3

    log (base of 2) 8 = 3

    log (base of 3) 27 = 3, etc

    3) A => 1,1,2,3,5,7,9,11

    pattern A = prime number

    3) B => 1,1,2,3,5,7,10,13

    pattern B = diff between numbers: 0,1,1,2,2,3,3,etc
