Find the perimeter and area of each figure described.

1)a rectangle with length 5m and width 2m

2)a right triangle with sides 3in, 4in, and 5in. the right angle is formed bye the two smaller sides

3)a square with side 6 1/2 in.

4)a rectangle with length 10.4cm and width 4.9cm

5)an isosceles triangle with two equal sides of 10 feet, the base 16 feet,and the height 6 ft.

Pleaseee Help!! I need this urgent Please thank you sooo much!

  1. oooh, i love this!!! So, first, to get the Perimeter you have to add all the sides of every shapes and polygons.

    1.) The Perimeter of a rectangle= 2l + 2w, Therefore, it will become: P=2(5) + 2(2)= 10+ 4 = 14m So, the perimeter is 14 meters.

    Area= length times width. So, 5 x 2= 10 meters squared Therefore, the area is 10 square meters

    2.) The Perimeter of a triangle= side + side + side. So, it wil become: P= 3in + 4in+ 5in= 12 inches

    Area = Base x Height divided by 2 The base is 4 and the height is 3 so, 4 x 3 = 12/2 = 6

    Therefore, the area will be = 6 square inches

    3.) Perimeter of a square = side x 4 (since a square has 4 equal sides) So, the perimeter will become 26 inches. Area of a square is side times side. So 6 1/2 times 6 1/2 will become 42 and 1/4 square inches

    4.) The perimeter of a rect. = 2l + 2w = 2(10.4) + 2(4.9) = 20.8 + 9.8 =30.6 cm  The area of a rect. = length x width = 10.4 x 4.9 =50.96 square cm

    5.) The perimeter of a triangle = side + side + side = 10 + 10 + 16 = 36 feet.  The area of a rectangle= base times height divided by 2 = 16 x 6 = 96/2 =48 square feet

    Hope that helps.

  2. Perimeter = side + side + side + side, etc.

    Area = Length times width

    So, for number one, P = 5m + 5m + 2m + 2m = 14 m

                                 A = 5m * 2m = 10 m (squared)

  3. Perimeter first, area second:

    1.  14 m,    10 sq m

    2.  12 in,   30 sq in

    3.  26 in,   40.3 sq in

    4.  30.6 cm,   50.96 sq cm

    5.  36 ft,  48 sq ft

    Formula's are Perimeter = 2 x L + 2 x W

    Area equals L x W

    Area of triange equals base time height, divided by 2.

    Good Luck
