  1. Remember absolute value gives two equations:

    |y| = +y for positive answer

        =  -y for negative answer

    |x-3| = (x-3) for positive answer

          = -(x-3) for negative answer

    if you break the y up first this gives

    +y= |x-3|  and -y=|x-3|

    now break up thes equations....Some equations will be the same but you only need one each for solving or graphing.
