I tried searching rent.com and apartment.com, but could find only one apartment complex with rent range starting at 2200 for a studion in LIC astoria region. Can someone please tell me what are the nice apt complexes in Astoria within my range. I am 25 single and new to New York, and would like to live in a apartment community. Any suggestions ? Is keeping a car unrealistic in Astoria ? I have to commute to Manhattan for a while before my office moves to LIC. How bad is commute to downtown ? Thanks in advance :) !!

  1. YOu can not do this online.  You have to go to the apartments. See what you get for the money.  See if the neighbors are happy.  If they are you will be , too.  You have to do a sample commute by yourself. You can not take anyone else's word about cars and commuting./

  2. If you don't mind possibly paying a broker's fee, you can try searching through this site: http://www.flyrig.com . If you register, you can tell brokers what you're looking for, and if a broker is interested, they'll contact you...the process is called "MatchMaker". Good thing is, it's all free (unless the broker that finds you a place requires a fee).
