Question:

Finding Hidden Wireless Network Password.?

I can connect to a wireless network from my old laptop running XP.

Now I have a new laptop that i want to connect to the wireless network, but I don't know the password.

The password is hidden on the old laptop so I can't see what it is.

Our system admin will not be back in the country for a few weeks and nobody else knows the password or has access to the router.

Is there a way to look on my old laptop to see what the network password is?

  1. Unfortunately the only place it is visible is from the router. Someone needs to get in touch with the admin, tell him to stop taking time out.

  2. You cán recover your password if the pass is saved in Window's standard wireless connection manager.

Download a tool called "Cain and Abel", next go to decoders > credential manager and press the plus sign or right click and refresh.

You'll be able to find your wireless pass there.

If the pass isn't saved there, try Aircrack to crack the password.

  3. Welllllllllllll ............. so much for wireless "security"
