Question:

Finding Jobs at Gamestop?

I'm currently looking for a part time job and would like a job in Gamestop. I checked their website but I didn't find any jobs for the UK. Does anybody work for Gamestop out there who can help me. Should I just go into the store and enquire? Also do they hire christmas staff?

  1. inquiring on-line

  2. I don't know how it works in the UK, but yes they do hire holiday help in the states. Everything from key-holders on down. Get to know your local store workers and managers and begin inquiring. If they don't have anything right now, keep checking (but don't be annoying or pesky). In the mean-time, it couldn't hurt to have the occasional conversation with them and impress them with your knowledge. When I used to go into Funcoland, I knew the staff by name and would help the customers with questions when they were busy. They eventually offered me a job, and 2  years later I was a dual store manager!

  3. To quote wikipedia:

The company operates 5,264[1] retail stores throughout U.S., Canada, Ireland, Australia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Austria, Puerto Rico, Switzerland, Portugal, Sweden and a test store in the United Kingdom. GameStop is expected to open around 600 new stores for the 2008 business year.

Apparently there's only one Gamestop in the UK, unless anymore have opened since. That would explain why there aren't any jobs.

I've never seen a Gamestop either I think apart from one in Birmingham. If you know where one is, just go into the store and ask.

You could also try for GAME and Gamestation. I know GAME at least seems to hire Christmas staff.

  4. youngest they'll hire is 16 but they prefer you be over 18 since they sell M rated games.
