I'm from england and my two children are desperate to move out of here. I think it could be a great chance for a fresh start but as we have no other family over there I need to get a work visa. Does anyone know of any jobs being offered for someone who has worked with people with complex disabilities for 18 years. I am highly experienced and I am currently working in a day care centre for people with disabilities, I would really like a similar job but also I need pay that is the say as what I get over here which is roughly £30,000 I'm not sure how much that is in US dollars but I think it's nearly $60,000.

Thanks for your help.

  1. You can't just get a work visa, you have to be sponsored directly by an employer.

The best people to talk to are the US Embassy.  Contact details are on their web site.

    Good luck!

  2. Keep your job.  It is good pay and would be hard to match here.  Tell them to stay in school.  Get a good education and a trade.

  3. My advice is this, I think you should stay where you're now, you've a very good job in the UK, you need to get an offer first from the US then you go to the American Embassy in London to apply for the work visa when you have the offer or the contract, this will take time plus the fact that the US is having a problems with jobs as well, usually they use their own people rather than  hiring one from yet another country.

I'm sure you have a great back ground about the job you do and you're doing it well, this experience would be very much appreciated here in the UK but not in the US. All the best.

  4. the answer before me is correct, you need sponsored. Indiana in the US is a great place to be for medical employment.
