How can I find out a distant relatives final resting place?

She died in the 1980's or early 1990's and was buried.

  1. What site we suggest depends on what country you are in.

    Unless you put it in your question, we can't tell what country you are in. It is the most frustrating thing Y!A does. Even if you go in through Y!A UK, Y!A Australia, Y!A Canada or ordinary Y!A, all the questions in English go into one big "pot". I'm in California, for instance.

    If you can find her, and her Last Residence is filled in, that is a clue. It is just a clue; she could have lived her last 5 years in Florida and made one last trip, after she passed away,  to the plot next to her husband in a little green town in Ohio.


  2. Do you know what town or city they were last in, what church they attended/were married in/baptized in?  If you do, then you can go to the church and ask where someone would be buried if they attended that church.  From there you ask at the cemetery for the burial plot.  They look it up by last name.  This is how we found my great grandparents graves, we only knew which church they attended and from there we found it.  Good luck.
