  1. Animals are here for food. I suggest you use them.

  2. Be a vegetarian.

  3. You are mistaken if you think that being a vegan helps animals any great amount over being vegetarian.  Much of vegan-ism is self flagellation.  If it hurts you too much quit.  I still would not consider your choices a normal diet but closer.

  4. I'm 16, and been vegan for a few months. I have the same problem, its really hard and a big inconvience. I know how you feel, like even if you can find something its never tasty and everyone else around you is eating something really good, and don't even think about the animals or anything. So then i'm like well, why can't i just ignore the problem like everyone else. Cause not many people are to concerned. But i know its the right thing to do, so i'm sticking w/ it.

I really don't feel like its right to exploit animals, so i just keep telling myself that its not right for an animal to suffer just so that i can be more comfortable.

Whats even harder for me is the leather, and wool, etc.

  5. Yeah I think you should go back to being vegetarian, my friend is vegan and she's 14 ^-^ she usually brings tofu with rice to school or something like that

  6. no don't give up yet. I suggest you re-look at the restaurant menus. I'm vegan (and 14) and I can usually find something, or can alter something. When there's absolutely nothing, I usually just ask for some fries (btw, I live in australia). The food at your school tuckshop probably isn't good for you anyway. Try bringing interesting food from home, like vegetable stir-frys and vegan macaroni salad. I love vegan muffins..

Also try searching in your local supermarket. Last week when I looked (I was really bored, ok) I found vegan chocolate biscuits, vegan apple and berry pie and vegan jelly/jello

  7. Alright, I've only been a vegan for almost two weeks but I think it's valid because like you guys have said I don't want to be a contributor to animal abuse. It is hard to find things to eat - I work at a restaurant and I'm used to grabbing a cookie for a meal when I'm in a rush, but I can't do that anymore. I'm a cook, though, so I'm actually intrigued by this problem. There are lots of cookbooks and vegan books out there that will aid you greatly, I'm sure. Why don't you try picking one up and getting creative? My vegan friend suggested the cookbook called "Veganomicon". I haven't got it yet, but it's probably worth it. 15 dollars on Amazon.com, I think. :)

  8. Until the environment around you becomes more Vegan friendly, it may be best for you to remain vegetarian. Be vegan when you can but don't sweat it if it becomes impossible.

  9. Well go back to being vegetarian then. Vegan is really hard until your out living on your own anyway.

  10. Being a veg*n among ten other meaters is being special.

Being a meater among ten other veg*n is being taboo. Indeed one day, the world would reach the stage that killing and butchering is wrong.

Veg*sm is the new Puritanism. This is my belief. It is also one of my arguments towards veg*sm, and although it may at first seem a flippant argument, I believe that it is very powerful. veg*sm is miserable. It attacks one of life’s greatest and surest pleasures - enjoying good food and linger around the societal norm. Anything which makes people less happy is bad.

    1) A couple people answered that you should go back to regular vegetarian. That is a valid option.

    2) The other thing is that many people find being vegan hard because they view the food choices as limited. I suggest you have your folks take you to a thai restaurant and try some of the veggie curries or thai dishes with tofu instead of meant.   Also Indian restaurants have a dish called vegetable jalfrazzi which is awesome.  If you live in a mid size city, try looking for some vegetarian restaurants, thai, inidan and some chinese restaurants (spicy tofu).   Also, look (they are rare) fo raw vegan restarants. They can be fantastic.   Good luck!
