My son is 4 feet tall, and weighs 75 lbs. His waist is 29". I"m having a h**l of a time getting jeans that fit him and I feel bad that he isnt wearing jeans to school. Ive tried some husky jeans and they dont fit but I know that all jeans fit the same. Does anyone have a suggestion???

  1. buy  bigger size, if its too long on him, cut the ends of the jeans.  which i am sure you thought of. but i would get a bigger size and try a new store.

NOT all jeans fit the same.

for some reason sizes run differently from different stores. i am a size 14 long.  size 14 from target never fits me, however when i go to new york and company or macys they fit.

  2. Have you tried looking in a different section of the store? He's only five, but he is obviously a big kid (and quite tall, too).  Maybe if you go into the teens or mens section where they sell jeans like Levi's by the waistXlength sizing scheme you could have better luck?  Perhaps if you buy the 29" waist size in the shortest length they have and then take them to a drycleaners so that the tailor can alter them, you will have better luck.

Also consider shopping somewhere like Old Navy where the pants often have the adjustable waists with the buttonhole elastic in the waistband.  I only buy this sort of pants for both of my children because when I get the right length, the waist is huge.

And not all jeans fit the same, you'll have to have him try on EVERYTHING.  Different brands of the same size can fit differently, even different styles of the same brand don't always correspond.

My kids are not good at trying on in the store, so I do a lot of buying and the try on at home/return later.  Sigh.  You might need to do the same.

  3. You should find a good dry cleaner who does alterations-then you can buy the correct waist size and they can hem them up in length.GOD-bless

  4. get em in a bigger size, duh

if they're too long, you can roll em up

Edit: okay, i see your probelm here. i've always had the oposite one (long legs, i was a 12 slim when i was 7, and needed a belt(tall child))

Obviously, there's a weight problem here, but i'm not gonna adress this, as you know it.

I would keep looking in husky brands, and/or 1/2 sizes. when you finaly find a brand that fits the boy, stick to it
