Question:

Finding my seat on Airtran flight?

I'm flying for the first time since I was a kid (more than 10 years ago) in 2 weeks. I have my seat reserved so I know what my seat number is already.

I know that Airtran uses Boarding Zones and seats certain rows of passengers at a time or something of the sort, but what do I do once I'm inside the plane? Are the seats numbered? Sorry, I know this is a really silly question, but I just want to be 100% sure I know what to do.

Thanks :)

  1. overhead of you there are a bunch of compartments that are for luggage and such and they have numbers such as 11 or 22 but then theyll have one side as "ABC" and one side "DEF" cuz both sides will be row 11 or row 22 or whatever your row number is

  2. say your ticket says you are seat 15F. Then you walk into the plane looking left and right on the overhead compartments where there are number/letter combinations. When you reach the 15th row, itll say where the lettered seats are, being either the window, middle, or aisle. You can always ask the flight attendents.

I've flown Airtran many times, and they are always there to help.

  3. Once you board the plane, you'll see the overhead bins for carry-on items - you'll also see the seat numbers and letters listed. Keep walking until you find your seat number and letter. Once you do, put any carry-on items that won't fit under the seat (like carry-on suitcases or duffel bags) into the overhead bin over your row (if you have any). Take your seat, shove any remaining carry-on items under the seat in front of you...and relax. :)

  4. Up above your head an each overhead compartment is the designation of each seat.  Seats are designated from the windows inward.  So,,, If you have seat 16E you are on the left side as you walk back and are on the aisle.
