I know its normal for women to have crazy fears during pregnancy, but recently I have had this fear that when my husband and I go to see the baby next week the doctor will tell us that it is a hermaphrodite. What are the actual chances of this happening? Can they even tell that on the 20 week scan?

  1. The chances of this happening are millions to one, so I would dismiss these thoughts from your mind, enjoy your pregnancy, and look forward to the happy healthy baby which I'm sure will be the outcome.

  2. Yes they can tell if your baby is lying in the right position. And the chances of that are slim to none I'm sure you will have a healthy baby

  3. I know that there are tests they can run during early pregnancy to see if there are any risks for abnormalites with the unborn baby. But as long as you have had a normal pregnancy and no other complications from medications or other drug usage then it is very unlikely that your fear will come true. Like you said its natural for a mom to have these fears or nigtmares about something going terribly wrong during her pregnancy. As far as your other questions i am not sure of Its best to talk to your doctor about it

  4. thats not gonna happen hun. take it easy and dont be worrying. u rarely ever hear of things like that happen. relax and enjoy every minute of it.

  5. Oh the odds of that are very slim. Don't worry about it.

  6. just take it easy chances are low just take a break from freakin out

  7. dont stress about it everything will be ok.

  8. LOL I'm sure that is not going to happen.

  9. that is extremely rare , you have more chance of it being limbless.

  10. Aww, I had that worry, too, for this last pregnancy! My husband just laughed at me, but I was being serious! Fortunately, baby is simply a girl (our third). :)

I don't know what the chances are, but I believe it's very slim; I would try not to worry about it... My husband and I talked about it, hypothetically, and decided that if we'd had a hermaphrodite (!), we'd wait until he/she was old enough to decide whether they believed him/herself to be male or female, so we didn't end up---inadvertently---making the wrong choice, as far as surgery, assuming surgery was desired... You'll be fine, and so will your baby! :)
