Finding roaches in my home dead and alive?

Ok so I just bought a house a month ago. In that month i've seen 2 dead cockroachs (I think they are roaches) and 1 live one. But these are not like the roaches i've seen in the past. usually when you try to kill a roach they run for their lives and these dont, but they have the antennas like roaches, shell, legs. I'm not sure where they are coming from. could it be the central air vents? I also live in a townhouse and I am attatched on all ends but the front. Why am i finding them dead? where are they dying? and how do i get rid of them? also they are not in the kitchen where the food is, the 2 dead ones i found in my livingroom and the one i killed was in the dining room

  1. GET A TERMINATOR OUT THEY WILL TELL YOU WHAT THEY ARE AND HOW TO GET RID OF THEM...GROSS!

  2. probably one of the outdoor species of roach...aka "water bug"

look up pictures of American Roach  and Smokey Brown Roach

they won't be coming from the a/c vent, it will be a closed system... assuming the home has central air, which is a dry air, is actually rather harsh on many insects that find their way inside and they will die of dehydration.  If the home is not a new home the past occupants may have had a pest control treatment at some point in the past ...insects will still be effected and die months after a treatment, just not as quick as when the products were first applied
