Hello!

I have a question where you are given the equation: 4x+3y+12=0

And the questions are:

a) Write y as a function of x

b) Then find the intercept and the root.

c) (Sketch a graph without graph paper), what is the slope of the graph of the function!

I will be very grateful to anyone who can help me with this!! Thanks :]

  1. a)y=(-4/3)x-4

    b)y intercept=-4

    x intercept=-3

  2. a) isolate y

    3y = -4x - 12

    y = -4/3x - 4

    f(x) = -4/3x - 4

    b) y-intercept is -4

    root or x intercept:

    0 = -4/3 x -4

    4 = -4/3 x

    x = -3

    c) slope is -4/3

    all info is found by converting it into y=mx+b slope-intercept form of linear equation

    hope this helps
