The number one cheap flight website for me has to be

you definitely have to take a look on there, i booked a flight last week to los angeles from heathrow, business class, British airways, for roughly 1300 pounds. (very cheap considering its short notice!)

have a good root around on it and I'm sure you will find a good cheap flight!

It's worth having a glance at the cost of economy tickets comparing with premium economy, or whatever class you like. Sometimes theres not much of a difference, eg, 100 pounds more to travel in business.

One word of advice, do NOT go with American airlines. Truly horrible experiences every single time.

BA or Virgin are winners in my opinion.
