Dissolved in water to make 100 mL of solution, 1.00 g of NaCl would have a concentration of __________M.

  1. Moles NaCl = mass / molar mass = 1.00 / 58.4428 g/mol =0.0171

    M = moles / V (in L ) = 0.0171 mol / 0.100 L = 0.171 M


  2. you are looking for molarity which is moles of solute divided by moles of solvent.  First convert your grams to mole by dividing amount of solute you have by the molar mass of that solute.  The convert you solvent to Liter by simply multiplying by1000.  Then take you moles of solute and divide that by the liter of solvent
