Finding the owner of a home thats on the market?

recently my fiance and I made an offer on a home. The home is still for sale as of 2007 ( almost 1 year). Our realtor isn't much of keeping into contact with us. Our mortgage lender is explaining to us that we need "secure" jobs before we can be approved for our loan. The problem is that we would have to rent an apartment sign a lease for a year and then wait until our lease is up to move into the home since we have no family in the area to stay at. Motel wise, way way too much! and signing a years lease isn't what we are looking for.

Is it possible to contact the seller and ask to lease ( rent the home) until we are able to be approved for the loan? If so, how can I find out the seller's information. Name, phone number to get into contact with him?

Does this sound good or is it a really bad idea?

I don't by any means know all state laws or if this is even true. I spoke with the owner of a house that we were interested in and he told me that he couldn't speak with us about his house because he'd signed a contract with HIS real estate agent. If you don't like your agent try to contact him through his and see if he would agree. If he doesn't have an agent I don't see any problem with contacting him unless you have signed papers with your agent....Good luck.

p.s. as a side note please if you do work something out with him, make sure that the house doesn't go into forclosure. In my area this is a huge thing....people renting houses are having to move because the rental properties are in forclosure.
