Sometime this year I'm going to get my first pair of pointe shoes, I'm very excited! [: I've been dancing for 11 years and I'm 13, and my ankles are finally strong enough to start. [soon] I'm aware that I'll go to a dance supply store and get fitting done, but I just want refrence. I have a average sized foot, but its REALLY narrow. To the point where

it's really hard to find shoes for everyday. My ballet slippers now [split sole] took me 5 different places to find a narrow enough one they could order for me. Does anyone with pointe shoes have a pointe shoe name that carries narrow? If you could just give me the name [like Bloch, Capezio, Grishko etc.] thanks so much! And please don't give me a poor quality brand that doesn't last long. If you actually read all this, thanks! Thanks all of you :D

  2. You're right, the dance supply store is the best place to find the right shoe. Find a store with the BIGGEST selection, even if you have to drive far. Remember to wear your tights and try to go at the time of day you normally dance. Make sure the store carries Bloch, Capezio, and Grishko brands in narrow sizes (call ahead of time). You might like the Bloch Serenade or the Capezio Pavlowa because they tend to be more narrow. Grishko can custom make shoes if none of the brands are narrow enough for you but it's expensive!

As for quality...take good care of them to get the most use out of them. None of them last long. Dancing is expensive!

Be sure to ask your instructor which color to buy. European Pink is my favorite.
