Ok.....Someone is calling you and you have a feeling it might be a collection agency so you don't answer. You also want to make sure it wasn't an old friend who just called so you dial * 69 to see what the number was. But when you hear the number you're not sure exactly where that number is located?

So.....What is the best way on the internet to figure out where an area code is from and just as important what town a prefix is located. (in case you don't know the prefix is the 3 numbers after the area code and 90% of the time are town/location based). Thus giving you a very good idea where the call was from and whether it was an old friend or just another pain in the neck collection agency (to be ignored again)!!!! And btw, no dumb *** answers like "i think you should just pick up the phone" etc etc!

  1. this is what I use..

    http://www.telcodata.us/telcodata/telco?...

it will also tell you the original telephone company who issued the numbers in that thousand block...

  2. Here's what I use:

    http://www.fonefinder.net/

That line will tell you where (city and state) the call is coming from. Also, it will let you know what type of carrier it is (cell or landline). Good luck!
