Fine dining in Puerto Rico?

I am going to Puerto Rico alone with a female friend this summer, We have been close friends since we graduated high school, but we go to different colleges and are going for our summer break. she is from there and we are going to stay with relatives of hers. We sort of had a falling out because i let another girl, who is now out of the picture, influence me to not talk to her for about 4 months, i have never truly been able to properly apologize for this. We have recently reconnected, and when she invited me to PR, i was extremely happy, but our relationship has changed and i still feel like we have drifted apart, maybe too far. I really want to take her to a nice place in Puerto Rico, a romantic place where i can give her a full apology and try to make things right between us. I have never been there before, so i am lost as to where to go. Please help, thank you.

  1. Check with tripadvisor.com for romantic fine dining experiences by other travelers.

  2. Antony Bordaine didn't find fine dining in Puerto Rico!

I would do the same as everywhere...look for a crowd.  If many of the locals know where to eat, you can't go wrong.

Your simply being there says a lot.  Pretend that things are all better.  If they are not...only a marriage proposal will work...or maybe it won't either.

  3. u should take her to Rincon. it is a beach town with private guest houses. search u tube for a guest house with the name che. it is a very nice place. for a car rent one at Angelo's in rincon.

  4. Assuming you don't speak Spanish I recommend Old San Juan(beautiful old Spanish city), there are plenty of NICE restaurants, language barrier won't be a problem for you since all business are bilingual plus all the restaurants are well advertised.  You will be able to arrange it all on your own without her knowing.

  5. Cherry Blossom in Isla Verde is a Nice one.Nicer will be a picnic prepare and  set by You at the beach...

  6. Try this one Bistro de Paris in Miramar/ Condado  or go local to La Casita Blanca in the middle of Barrio Obrero. She will reallly apprciate the bacalaitos a s appetizars. Take care Raul.

  7. go to punta salina in levittown, near bayamon.

they have a restaurant called campo mar, and it has a beautiful view to the sea, u could see san juan from there. take her at day time, the food is delicious, but expensive, and its forth it.

  8. Well my friend,

as you said, she is from here so she knew all the fine restaurant in here so if you what to impress her and you have the money take her to Old San Juan to the best Italian restaurant in the Island (follow my advise, I travel to Italy ever year since 6 year ago) "IL Peruggino" is in Del Cristo Street. Inside the restaurant you feel like being in a Tuscan Villa, very romantic. You need to make a reservation in advance, because if some celebrity was in the island at the same time as you and want to eat over there maybe they close for the public and only attend the celebrity (when you be in the restaurant foyer you can corroborate my words, they have very huge galleria with the photos of all the celebrity that visit them with the owner/chef an italian guy very friendly). By the way, when they bring you the table time be there sharp, they work like a "tee time" on the golf course or you lose your table, remember when you be there they named a waiter for your table. The "dress code" is "semi-formal" don't use jeans. All the food, wine and desserts are super, but for dessert I suggest (if they have when you be there) "mandarin cream brulee".

    Good Luck!
