Question:

Fine thread on plumbing?

I am looking for a fitting that is apparently impossible to find. It is a 1" male connection with fine threading. Not the coarse threading that is usually on galvanized pipe. Any idea what type of threading this may be and if anything is still made with that threading?

  1. lowes stocks fine thread fittings....u night have to change from galv to pvc and back if u know what i mean......

  2. There is different threads, but the most common are pipe thread, if I remember right is 11 threads per inch.

Then there is compression fittings that have a finer thread.

Then there is hose fittings which is coarser than pipe thread.

It'll help if we had a description of what you are doing.

  3. might be a "tubing fitting".    They are a different thread.
