Fine thread outdoor spigot. Is there an adapter so I can attach a hose? Home Depot didn't have one.

My outdoor water faucet is fine threaded (I don't know why they would do that). I want to attach a hose to it and have checked ACE and Home Depot for an adapter without any luck. A guy at Home Depot said that I need to get a backflow preventer spigot and use the adapter off of that. I don't want to buy a new spigot. Anyone have this problem or know where I can get a fine thread female to coarse thread male adapter?

Lowe's or Home Depot.  Are you sure the spigot doesn't already have an adapter on it?

you could try checking plumbing supply shops, otherwise you may have to change the spigot
