Finger injury dragged David Lee out of the World Championship
The American basket ball team is facing bad luck after misfortunes, as this season seemed to be not so good for the American basket ball. United States suffered another strong blow with the injury of its forward veteran David Lee. US basket ball is left with worries and hopes because one of its strong forward guards David Lee is going to miss the World Championship this year.
A young, dynamic and strong player David started his professional basket ball career with New York Knicks in the year 2005. His professional and dedicated qualities made him a star in no time. However these days the star is compelled to rest for at least 6 weeks as he has injured his middle finger during the practice sessions with Golden State Warriors. It is bad news for the veteran David Lee as well as he is not going to be a part of the squad which will be played in Istanbul, Turkey next month. Lee who has the average of scoring 20.3 points in every game and almost 12 rebounds in each match is fighting to get well as soon as possible. It is a serious sign of bad luck for him as well because he is unable to play despite of going through a remarkably fantastic form. It seems that his contract of 80 million dollars with the Golden State Warriors of six years is facing a big obstacle in this case.
The coach Mike Krzyzewski expressed his views sadly and stated that Lee is a strong asset for the team and it will be very difficult for him to replace such a fantastic player with anyone else. He added that Lee has his own importance in the league and also good for the US basketball team. Krzyzewski said he is very disappointed for Lee as he is eager to play and cannot wait to get back to the Basket ball court. It is not doubtful to say that Lee is restless to get back to the court because he has offered his coach a possibility upon getting a personal plane to Turkey to join the team after consulting with his doctor. It is going to be a tough task for the Americans to select the final playing team because two of their main players are not going to compete at the World Championship event excluding the veteran David Lee. Amare Staoudemire and Robin Lopez are already out of the squad. New York Knicks pulled Staoudemire’s name are out of the American players’ team because of some problems with his agreement with the Knicks and Lopez is still struggling for his fitness and fighting with his back injury.
Coach Mike Krzyzewski said that they are working on to set a new strategy for the players they are left with. He said that the exit of top three players like David, Staoudemire and Robin is a big shock for him and now they are going to change the plan and strategy for the upcoming event because it is important to create a strategy by keeping the required list of players under notice. Later he added that Rudy g*y will play at the position where Amare Staoudemire would have played. Similarly Kevin Durant will be playing at the spot where David Lee would have played. Still we have to keep our fingers crossed as every player has different character, psychological strength and capabilities, so it is not going to be easy for us to make judgments. Later he added that still they are hoping for the best and will try their best to utilize their best players’ talents effectively.
The exit of three main players from the American squad for the basket ball world championship is not less then a shock for them. Now it is coach’s job to divert his focus towards the remaining talent and utilize their strength to the fullest.
