Finger injury rules Marcus North out for the remainder of the season – Cricket News Update

The 32-year-old middle order batsman from Victoria sustained the injury during Warriors colossal 323 run win over New South Wales in Perth on Sunday, February 19, 2012. North dislocated his right little finger on the opening day of
the match which forced him to leave the field immediately, and he never came back, until the side sealed a comprehensive victory on the third day of the match.
He underwent surgery on Friday night. The ruptured tendons in the injured finger will keep the Victorian out of action for at least three months, which means he will be unavailable to the Warriors if they make it to the finals of the

"There's never a good time for an injury and unfortunately it's come for me at the back end of the season when we're playing really good cricket," said North, speaking to media reporters in Perth on Monday, February 20, 2012.
"It's devastating not to have the opportunity to play the rest of the season, but I'll certainly be right behind the guys and hoping for the best. It would be great to top it off with making a Shield final and winning a Shield final
and if they do, I'll just have to live with the fact I won't be playing in it," he added further.
