Question:

Finite or infnite universe?

i read alot of people answering a question by saying that universe is finite. but the universe is expanding and is accelerating and after 17 Gyrs there will be a big rip and that does not mean the end of it. does it? it will probably expands forever because after big rip there would be no possibility of the univerese's density to come over critical density.

  1. infinite of course

  2. Anything with a beginning must have an end.

At one time the universe did not exist and one day it will go out of existence.

The density is the key,it continues to diminish and when it passes the critical density it will begin to go out of existence.

  3. Finite but unbounded - which means that the material universe has an end ( about 14 billion light years away, give or take a bit ) but the space it can expand into is infinite.....

  4. infinite because , it is again start with the end.

  5. i asked if the moon spins, if yes then i was convince that every side would be facing somewhere on earth at some time. the answers made no sense, so i ask here also. i got alot of answers. maybe it was assumed i was talking about viewing it from the sun or the center of the galaxy. blah, blah, also the info i arrived with may have confused me. anyway, i also know the brain rules our vision. if you are born seeing individual pictures from each eye, the brain turns 1 toward your nose and blocks the  picture so your not confused. so if we view that far away with our eyes, doesn't our brain decide what we think we see. like Einstein's cross.

  6. It has to be infinite.

Just imagine. If it's finite, what's outside of it? More space, right?

Space is a concept we will never be able to fully explore.

  7. Infnite universe

  8. I've heard things that the universe does have limits, it's just growing or expanding.
