The Hamburg manager insisted that his team was not rewarded despite creating a host of chances throughout the course of 90 minutes.
Rothosen continued their unbeaten run under Thorsten Fink in the Bundesliga and played a 1-1 draw against FC Augsburg this past weekend. The side scored the equaliser in the second-half through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paolo-Guerrero-c29087 after the visitors
had scored just after the interval.
Hamburg have seen a revival under Fink and have been lifted from the relegation zone to 13th place now after a series of impressive results. The side has won four times this season and has registered six defeats, which
were all in the rein of former manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning.
Fink claimed that sometimes the team is not rewarded with the good work they do on the field. The tactician insisted that he is impressed with the way his team has played and admitted that they were unlucky in converting the opportunities
coming their way. However, he wants the team to show some improvement in the second-half of the season if they want to qualify for Europe at the end of the season.
“Sometimes you're not rewarded in football. I'm happy with my team's performance, but it's a shame they couldn't take their chances. If we continue to improve in the second half of the season, we'll start winning at home again,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Meanwhile, Augsburg manager Jos Luhukay insisted that it was a vital point for his team in a difficult away game. He admitted that the players will go into the winter break with a lot of confidence. He hailed the performance of
the players and also hinted that there could be some additions in the January transfer window.
“That was an enormously important point for us. Now we can go into the winter break a little more relaxed. It helped that our keeper kept us in it with a few blinding saves,” he concluded.
Hamburg have a tough task ahead in their next Bundesliga game when they face current Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund when they return from the winter break in January.
