Finland annihilate Hungary in the European Mixed Team Championships – Badminton News
In the group number seven match of the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships 2011, Finland made a remarkable performance by beating Hungary with a 5-0 score at Amsterdam, Netherlands.
All of the shuttlers from Finland put up a great show in all categories of the game, by never letting their opponents comeback in the match at any moment.
The opening game was the Women’s Singles battle, where Nanna Vainio of Finland defeated Monika Szoke from Hungary, in a straight-set match. Right from the start of the first set, Nanna remained ahead of her opponent and maintained the gap to win the opening
game by 21-13. She continued her impressive performance in the second set and finished it by a 21-14 margin. The Finnish shuttler took only 22 minutes to win the match by a 21-13, 21-14 score line.
In the Men’s Singles category, Ville Lang of Finland outclassed his opponent, Andras Nemeth of Hungary, in straight-sets in just 23 minutes. Ville proved that he is the best in the business by controlling the pace of the game. He won the first battle by
a score line of 21-16, 21-6 and strengthened his team’s grip on the match.
In the Women’s Doubles clash, the Finnish pair of Anu Nieminen and Sanni Rautala, proved their class by beating Sara Fekete and Zsofia Horvath of Hungary, in straight games. The Finnish pair spent just 21 minutes on the court and proved their supremacy over
their opponents by defeating them with a score of 23-21, 21-16.
The Men’s Doubles pair of Ville Lang and Mikko Vikman from Finland earned another point for their team when the duo defeated Andras Nemeth and Csaba Szikra of Hungary, in straight-sets. The Finnish shuttlers won the first game by a marginal score of 21-15.
The next set was almost the same, as the winners of the opening set also won the second game by 21-16. The match took only 22 minutes to prove the supremacy of Finnish players.
The Mixed Doubles fight was the last contest of the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships 2011. It was the most thrilling fight of all the matches between Finland and Hungary, as it was a three-set contest.
The opening set was won by Anton Kaisti and Sanni Rautala of Finland against Martin Szatzker and Sara Fekete of Hungary. The Finnish couple won the opening game by a 21-16 score. Their opponents from Hungary levelled the match by winning the second set with
a 21-14 margin. However, in the final set, Finnish shuttlers played better badminton and won the final set by a 21-15 score.
