Finland yet again the home of Challenge Tour
With the Kytaja Golf Club serving as the host for Finnish Challenge from the 2nd till the 5th of August 2012, the event is being looked on as the breakthrough that will once again allow Finland to reinstate its dominion status in the
sport of golf.
Director of Challenge Tour, Alain de Soultrait, while commenting on the commendable occasion said, “Our Members have always relished playing in Finland, and with the fantastic reputation which Kytäjä Golf Club has built up, I am sure they will enjoy the
Finnish Challenge in August”.
Along with this he also expressed his gratitude towards the Finnish Golf Union that allowed the authorities to play an important role in effectively organising the event.
"We should thank this magnificent club for agreeing to host the tournament, and also the Finnish Golf Union for organizing and promoting the event. Without their sterling efforts, the tournament would not have been able to take place".
Moreover, General Secretary of the Finnish Golf Union and promoter of the event, Petri Peltoniemi, exhibited positive and optimistic vibes regarding organising the event in the country.
He said that the people of Finland, as well as golf fans all over the world, are completely thrilled and extremely excited to witness the next encounter of golf taking place in their homeland.
It has been three years since a major golf event took place in Finland. The last such event took place back in 2009, when SK Golf Challenge was held at the Linna Golf Club.
In addition to this, it is also important to mention here that the last golf winner from the homeland was Antti Ahokas, who was able to secure twin victories, first in Argentina and the second in Europe.
Antti is anticipated to play the leading role in the opening of the Challenge Tour at Kytaja, along with his fellow countryman, Mikko Korhonen.
Situated at the South East course at Kytaja, the golf course constructed with the intent of organising the Challenge Tour has already been included among the best golf courses of the world.
