What "Fin" name is best? Most likely it will be shortened to Finn as a nick name.

  1. I would stay away from Findley and Findlay if possible, they sound like Finley just a little too much.

    I think Finley would probably be the best, so he would have a "full" first name, and Fin could easily be a nickname, but Finn sounds nice too.

  3. I've never heard anyone called "Fin". but if that's what you want to call him then i would just go with Fin or Finn.  Most definitely not Fintan though.

    If its going to be shortened to Finn, why not just call him that?

    It's a gorgeous name, and sums up my energetic 8 year old perfectly.

    Does your family have an Irish background?  There are tons of Irish names that would sound better as a first name.
