Steven Finn prepared to replace Broad for 2nd Test – Cricket News Update

“We don't know who is going to play, but if I get my opportunity I'm ready to take it,” Finn said in an interview with
Sky Sports. “I have felt as though I have been ready for a little while now. I have done a lot of bowling this winter and a lot of work on becoming a better bowler. Hopefully I can reap the rewards of that if I get a chance.”
Ranked the number one Test team, the Poms find their status in danger after their 75-run defeat to hosts Sri Lanka in the first Test of the series. Add to that their 0-3 drubbing at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 earlier this year, and England may find themselves
slipping down the rankings if they are unable to clinch a victory in the final Test of the series.

Finn made his Test debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 at Chittagong in March 2010, and his career in the extended-overs format spans 12 Tests, with 50 wickets at an average of 26.92 to his name. He last played a Test match for the national side last year in June,
against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on home soil, and is keen on getting another chance to cement his place in the squad. The pitch at the P Sara Oval is characteristically spinner-friendly, but the 22-year-old is prepared for the challenge.
“It is obviously going to be testing conditions out here for seam bowlers but that is the way it goes. I personally like challenges and if I am given the nod in this game I will be looking to try and win my place back,” Finn said, expressing his eagerness
to receive a recall.
