Finos Films.......?

I alwasy enjoyed the old finos films especially the comdey,s i know they dont exist any more ..but did any other company take thier place in greece? i mean i seen a few greek films since finos shut down ..but not as many as they had then...but i suppose tv has taken over..i mean are there any greek film actors any more doing greek films.? .

The first link is a short summary of the Greek film Industry, while the second is of the company that has the rights for the Finos Films in DVD form.

Finos Films managed to be the first  in the film making industry on account that  they used all the major actors of the time and mostly of Konstantaras and Vougiouklaki. They were the big box office names that made FF the number one.

There was a very successful combination of script writers and actors as well as technicians of all levels that came out of that one studio. And the result was their successful story.

Although they made some films in primitive means and in a very short time they also did some major productions that were and still are aired by the Greek TV stations.

Those productions were good for their time and some have some memorable lines that even today bring out the smile of the viewer, but they were just that, good for their time.

The on-coming of TV lead all the firms to produce films of lesser quality  that were of the video type and which could not stand the scrutiny of time. Major actor Psaltis was unfortunately involved in most of them and the pressure for more film products lead to deteriorating quality products, and their final extinction.

Present day Greek films are mostly sponsored by the Greek Cinema Center and by TV channels for their program.
