The Viola official insists that the team has had two difficult seasons, and are yearning to start the next season with a fresh determination.
Fiorentina director, Sandro Mencucci, has stated that having secured their safety in the top flight, the team is just waiting for the ongoing season to end.
The Viola fired up a splendid comeback to the season with a win against AC Milan, followed by another victory over Udinese. The wins against two strong teams have seen the club move six points clear of the relegation zone, with just four games left to be
played in the league.
The Gigliati director insisted that their sole aim of the season has lately been to get a ticket to the next Serie A season. The executive insisted that having secured their position away from the drop zone, the club is desperately waiting for the season
to end.
Mencucci went on to say that the club has flown high in the league for half a decade, but stated that the last two years have seen them stoop to a position that is not worthy of remembrance. He insisted that the eyes of the club are set on the next season,
which will provide them with an opportunity to start again with a new resolve.
While talking to the Sky Italia, the Gigliati chief insisted:
“We have to forget this campaign and end it as soon as we possibly can. After five splendid years, we’ve had two seasons to be forgotten. Starting from next term, we want to give new joy to the fans.”
