The former head coach of Fiorentina has gone on to warn the men from the Artemio Franchi that they need to be more clinical in front of goal if they are to succeed.
Fiorentina have been extremely active in the transfer market of late and they have signed a lot of key players as well as holding on to the services of their young and burgeoning talent in Stephan Jovetic. They have made around 18 new signings this summer,
and have completely revamped their squad from last season.
They have also been highly effective in their displays during the season, and have managed to keep a huge chunk of the possession in the matches as well. They have been dominant in many matches, and they have been unlucky in many of their matches. It was
their indecisiveness in front of goal which led them to lose the Serie A match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, and they were unlucky against Juventus as well, a game which ended with the match tied goalless.
However, they were not their usual dominant self against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan, and Andrea Stramaccioni made sure that he set out a team which would nullify all the threat that the Florence outfit possessed. He was extremely effective in doing so, and led his side
to a victory.
The 65-year-old Mondonico has further emphasised that it would be extremely beneficial for the Gigliati outfit, if they were able to kill matches off, and should not be passive in their attacks. Mondonico further remarked that the losses that Fiorentina
have conceded have been the ones which they have dominated in, and further remarked that it was not a position that Fiorentina should be in.
He remarked that it was positive to see the Gigliati outfit performing at such a level, and further remarked that being better finishers would help them. He further went on to state:
“When you play well and do not win, that is a problem. But if you play badly and lose, then you know how to fix things. Fiorentina at the moment are having so much possession, but are not incisive enough inside the area.”
Vincenzo Montella would be setting his sights on Bologna for the upcoming week.
