La Viola patron Andrea Della Valle believes that another five points will ensure the team’s status in the top flight; insists the team must gather the points as soon as possible.
Fiorentina chief Andrea Della Valle believes that his side should look to gather another five points from the league in order to distance themselves from the relegation zone.
The Viola are currently placed 16th in the Serie A points table, but have a cushion of mere three points above the relegation zone, after their recent 0-0 stalemate against Palermo.
The Gigliati boss insisted that the current position in the league is unusual for the team, and is a matter of dismay for everyone connected to the club. The benefactor insisted that the team is keeping a close eye on the results of the teams in and around
the relegation zone, and is hoping to make a clean escape from the drop zone.
The chief stated that the situation is not desperate for the club, but also pointed out that the side needs to keep a close contact with the changing position of the points table, and work its way towards Serie A safety. The executive insisted that it would
be foolish to delay their escape any longer, and urged his team to bag the points required for the club to ensure its safety in the league.
While talking to the press, Della Valle said:
“We’re all disappointed. Results from elsewhere do concern us, but we have to start again now. The situation is not dramatic, although we have to take a look over our shoulders. We don’t have to wait until the last day of the season to save ourselves…”
The Chairman insisted that there are a lot of teams who are close together in the space of a few points, and insisted that survival should be their only focus in the season. He expressed his belief that the club will secure itself from drop zone, with five
more points added to its total.
Della Valle urged his team to show the same determination in their trip to Rome, which earned them the away win over AC Milan.
