This summer transfer window saw Ligue 1 giants Olympique Lyonnais, lose out on the services of some of their most integral players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 respectively.
President, Jean-Michel Aulas was very keen in reducing the club’s payroll in a bid to keep in line with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play ruling which comes into effect next season. However, despite seeing so many big names leave the Rhone club, Argentine international,
Lisandro Lopez chose to commandeer the ship for the current campaign.
And, Aulas always knew the importance of the striker. While talking to the media earlier this summer, the Lyon supremo had already said that the club cannot lose such an exceptional player as he is the heart and soul of the club.
“It is impossible that he leaves us, even if big offers come. I have every confidence in the player, who is an exceptional man. He has the heart of OL and OL has the heart of Lisandro,” were the words of Lyon’s president.
However, this summer, it was quite a difficult task to keep hold of the star striker. One of the sides interested in the player was Italian Serie side, Fiorentina. La Viola directors were furious to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 slip through their grasp and were
keen on signing a proven goalscorer. In the final hours of the transfer market, the Italian side did try signing Lopez but it was not to be.
And, the news was later confirmed by La Viola sporting director Daniele Prade who in an interview with La Nazione admitted that the club has always followed the player.
Under contract at the club until 2014, it is difficult to see the former Portista leave Lyon. However, Licha knows that by the end of this season, he will have just one year left on his contract. And, Les Gones might react quickly regarding this.
Lopez, while talking to reporters has claimed that a transfer is not in his thoughts.
“I feel good. There is no doubt in my mind about a transfer, even if the club does not have the economic means to form a great team. Today, I want to stay here and I have no reason to think otherwise,” said the striker, meaning that the player’s next move
(even if it happens), won’t be for the money.
