The Viola midfielder believes that his team has been playing well despite mixed results; insists the Gigliati will not repeat their mistakes against the Old Lady.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Lazzari-c5687 insists that his team has been putting in good performances despite the failing results, and believes that the match against Juventus is a perfect opportunity for the team to prove its mettle.
Fiorentina have secured only one win in their last six matches, which has seen the club drop to 15th position in the Serie A points table, just seven points off the relegation zone.
Lazzari insists that the team has played well, but difficulties in finding the back of the net have been dragging them down in the Serie A standings. The midfielder is confident that his team will be able to convert more of their
chances against Juventus, and will bag a crucial victory.
While talking to the press, the 27-year-old said:
“At Catania we have had some great chances but unfortunately we could not turn them into goals. Hopefully against Juventus we will be able to create as much again, but the result will be different.”
The former Cagliari player was also asked about his views on the media blackout implemented by the Bianconeri, after their 0-0 stalemate against Genoa this weekend.
The playmaker insisted that it is a part of the game, and should not distract Fiorentina from the fact that Juve are a strong adversary. He urged the Viola to prepare for a tough competition.
“Let’s say that it is part of the game - we have seen that Parma have also had some doubtful penalty appeals after a week of complaining. We must not think of this, we need to only look at the game, we know that Juventus are a
team that puts so much intensity into each game, we must be careful about this.”
Juventus are the only unbeaten side in the Serie A this season. However, they head into the match against Fiorentina on the back of four consecutive draws.
La Viola will host the Turin giants in round 28 game of the season on Saturday, March 17.
