La Viola President Andrea Della Valle says that the club wants to begin a new era with the Montenegrin star; insists the attacker also wants to stay.
Fiorentina owner assures that they have locked down Stevan Jovetic, and do not want to push the team into another anonymous campaign by selling the star, whose role is pivotal to the team.
While talking to Firenzeviola.it Della Valle said:
“Jovetic is an important player and we begin again from him.”
La Viola have apparently learned their lesson after being stuck in the middle of the points table. The Tuscan side is paying the price for selling Alberto Gilardino to Genoa in January transfer window, as goals have been a rare
commodity at Stadio Artemio Franchi since then.
There are reports that the attacking midfielder has received some big money offers from Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid. Jovetic suffered a serious injury in the 2010/11 season, and could not play a single game throughout the
campaign.
Recent reports suggest that Manchester City have offered 30 million Euros for the young attacker.
The Fiorentina owner, however, refused the possibility that Stevan Jovetic will move anytime soon. He believes that the club wants to make a new beginning with the player, and the youngster is also committed to the club.
“Anything can happen in football, but we have locked down Jovetic. He wants to stay and begin a new era with us.”
The Viola owner was all praise for the Montenegrin international, saying that he is the team’s most important player.
“He is our most important player, our central figure. The Della Valle family don’t want another anonymous campaign for Fiorentina. We want to give so much more to this team.”
Jovetic is an attacking midfielder, whose impressive dribbling, close control and technical abilities have drawn many comparisons to the Italian legend, Roberto Baggio.
The 22-year-old joined the Gigliati from Partizan in 2008, and since then, he has gone onto make 91 appearances for the Tuscan outfit. The attacker also has 23 goals to his name.
