Question:

Fios Help!!!?

So I have Fios and it has been giving me nothing but headaches.... today's problem is that every time I change the channel a blank white/blue box appears on the center right, and it doesn't go away, even when I turn everything off. The only way it manages to leave is if I enter and exit the video on demand feature. The situation kind of looks like this:

I would call but that's really my last option... I hate talking on the phone.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

  1. Try to recycle your stb (set top box).  To do that just pull the power plug out of the back of the stb.  Wait for 60-90 sec's.  Put the power back into the box.  Wait for the box to cycle the reprogramming.  When you put power back the box will cycle thru several stages.  You will see several codes displayed, you will be able to tell when it is all set because your clock will be displayed.  That is call a soft boot.  If that doesn't work, you will then have to call and have the service rep do a hard boot.  They will be able to "zap" your box right from the office over the phone.  If that doesn't work you will need a new stb.
