Fire Bellied Newt Information?

Question

I am i first time reptile owner and i was wondering if a fire bellied newt is a good choice for begginers? If they are why do you think so? Any other information on them would be great!

I had several in college.  They are not reptiles, they're amphibians.  They can escape from nearly every type of habitat, so make sure yours has a lid that is locked into place.

fire bellied newts are actually amphibians and are very easy to care for. they don't require a large habitiat which is nice and they are pretty much aquatic. a small filter would be helpful, but not nessesary and they prefer cold water.

i love my fire bellied newt, he is very cool. very neat and easy pets to have!
