Which set-up do they prefer?

1. A few inches of water, and a basking area

2. A moss substrate, and a large water dish

  1. when i had mine i used fish gravel with a pretty good sized water dish sunk into the gravel i also had stuff for them to climb on and hide in that would be the ideal set up for a fire belly


  2. they will like the moss substrate and a few inches of water, fire bellied toads like to bury sometimes but they also do like a little swim, they are not much of a basking toad but a uv light is an advantage, in our viv we have about 3 inches of water with pebbles on the bottom (not gravel) and a slope with some rocks for them to sit on the slope is so they can get out of the water easily, but they also like to climb so a few small branches in the enclosure is nice, they also like a couple of half logs to hide under as well

  3. dont keep your toads on gravel it cn cause impaction and death. shallow water with a few places to get out of it is best
