Fire Food Chili gave trainer J Daly a reason to push the boat out after winning the finale at Romford

Fir Food Chili, winner of the Coral champions Night Puppy Standard Heats, set the track on fire and won the purse, worth £1000 for trainer J Daly.
Covering the distance of 400 meters at the racing track of Romford, the white blue and brindle dog grabbed the spotlight.
The 6/4 favourite, Fire Food Chili, with a superb early pace, remained at the middle position. As soon as he came near the finish line, the two-year-old, wearing white and black number 3, chased the lure with a speedy pace.
Fire Food Chili remained at the mid position throughout the race, but when he was left with the distance of 1 length from the wire, he railed with swiftness and placed himself in the leading position.
The son of Timor Blue out of Droopys Lotto, covered the distance in 23.71 seconds and gave a hit.
Fire Food Chili was followed by the 1 1/2 favourite, Offshore Rebel, who finished second by 3 ¼ lengths in the Coral Champions Night Puppy Standard Final.
The two-year-old, starting his chase from trap 1, railed through the dirt with a good pace, but unfortunately P J Simmond’s blue dog got bumped in when he was left with 1 length to the wire.
Even though the young hound kept on running, he was not able to defeat Fire Food Chili and finished second in 23.97 seconds.
Wearing black and white number 4, Malbay Phanter was ½ a length behind Offshore Rebel.
As the trap opened for trainer R V Brain’s black dog, he chased the lure with a splendid pace and continued running in the middle of the pack.
When 1 to 3 lengths were left for the hound to cross the wire, he got checked, which made him finish third, covering the distance in 24.01 seconds.
When Malbay Phanter finished his run, he left Sundance Jet, a two-year-old black hound, 3 ¼ lengths behind.
The 16/1 favourite ran from trap 2 with a sluggish start, but as he railed through the track, he got bumped in by 1 length.
Trainer P J Simmonds' hound couldn’t help himself out to finish well and stood fourth by covering the 400 meter distance in 24.27 seconds.
The one-year-old blue dog, Mountjoy Hawk, who broke his maiden in the last race of Coral Champions Night Puppy Standard Heats, tragically finished fifth in the race by 2 ½ lengths.
The young hound started his quick and speedy chase from trap 5, remaining in the middle during the race, the hound got checked by 1 length and covered his distance in 24.47 seconds.
Mountjoy Hawk was followed by the unlucky hound, Droopys Calvin, a two-year-old who chased the lure with a slow start and eventually got bumped in by 1 length.
Covering the distance in 25.17 seconds, trainer D Childs’s hound finished sixth by 8 ¾ lengths.
£1600 was reserved as the total purse for the race.
£1000 was awarded to Fire Food Chili, Offshore Rebel won £200 by finishing second where as the rest of the pack were given £100 each.
