Question:

Fire Fox remembering recent sites visited. How do I turn it off?

I recently got a New laptop (Vista Home Basic).

When I got it home I installed Fire Fox and ran it. It said would you like Fire Fox to start you on the same session you were on if you close? I thought this sounded nice in the beginning, but after a while it started to get annoying.

I was wondering if there is anyway to turn this off without having to reinstall Fire Fox. Thanks.

  1. Ahhh...you find that starting new browsing sessions from the last site you visited not to your liking...you can easily change this by clicking Tools->Options, click Main, change the option in "When Firefox starts:" to either show a blank page or show my home page, then click OK and you are good to go. HTH - good luck.

  2. Completely disable the autocomplete list

If you would rather not have Firefox display autocomplete results at all:

       1. In the Location bar, type about:config, and press EnterReturn.

              * The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.

       2. Search for the preference browser.urlbar.maxRichResults.

       3. Double-click the browser.urlbar.maxRichResults preference and enter a value of -1.

       4. From the menu at the top of the Firefox windowbar, select FileFirefox and then select the ExitQuit FirefoxQuit menu item.

       5. Restart Firefox again.

Now when you type in the Location bar, no list of results will be shown.

  3. tools>options>privacy tab> privacy data>check always clear my data when closing firefox ..reset firefox...

  4. Im sorry I don't think you can turn it off but you can delete it and when you go on a website it will show it will be there just go to tools>clear private data. and when your online and you wanna get off just go to tools>exit
