Question:

Fire belly Frogs or f.b. newts.

I have a new 10 gal. tank and I can't decide if I eant a fire belly toad,or a fire belly newt.Which can you handle.Which is the less dificult to clean up after.What supplies will I need to be successful with them.

  1. well here's amphibians 101 DONT HANDLE THEM u want a pet u can touch get a lizard. when handling amphibians they absorb any chemicals and salts on your skin through there skin this over time can harm them even in some cases kill them.

    otherwise both are easy to keep a 10 gallon would only be able to house 1 newt but it could hold 2 toads.

  2. firebellies are not worth it. I had one for three years and it was the biggest nuisance and they smell, plus you can't handle them.

  3. id go with fire bellied newts they are doctile and they are very easy to clean up for but dont get both... the frogs usally kill the newt... but newts like to be held, but if i was u i would go with hong kong newts
