Fire-eaters---? is this something

ok this is a weird question but both me and my brother can eat super hot sauce and hot chili peppers w/o sweating or having to drink that much. since we both are that way is that something genetically that we can tolerate super hot/spicy food? we also have a cherokee indian background.
