if you're going to isla mujeres they have a small store that sells them cheaper than in cancun

When you get there, ask at the hotel where a good jewelry store is and goo there.  Take note of the quality and prices at this store.  Then go to La Isla Shopping Mall on Kukulkan Blvd.  Ask in any shop if they have opals and if they don't, they'll take you by the arm to a seller who does, probably.  Click the link below to read other travelers comments on the La Isla Shopping Mall.
