Fire place was insulated with that foam c**p - want to remove it?

How hard is it to remove that ugly yellow insulation stuff? It is in the fireplace vents, and they put plywood in the actual fireplace and used the insulation to hold it in.

It is kind of a pain but with persistence it can be chipped into pieces and removed.

We used a reciprocating saw to cut through it and chiseled the rest off the brick when we did our fireplace remodel.  A bit time consuming, but very much necessary!
