Firecracker Jack expected to claim the title of Standard Trophy
On the card of the Stadium Bookmakers Standard Trophy, Firecracker Jack looks to be the strongest runner who can convincingly claim first position in the high-stakes Open Race that will be held at Nottingham racecourse on Monday night, May 7.
To cover the distance of 500 meters on the flat track, the T. Munslow-trained black dog will compete against Oneco Talent, Paradise Aruba, Romeo Energy, Slick Hawk and Jordan Light. Out of these runners, Slick Hawk has gained a favourite tag.
Firecracker Jack will break from Trap 6 when the action begins at 20:19 (GMT). For the prize cheque of £200, each of the six hounds will try to deliver to his/her best but Munslow’s talented trainee is likely to outstrip all.
The four-year-old veteran hound has been winning with regular intervals since the start of his career. With the dawn of 2012, he gained a fresh momentum that helped him register some iconic feats.
After winning three races in January, the dashing dog attained a sterling success on February 7. The maverick sprinter went ahead to bag two victories in the month of March.
From April 7 to 23, the brilliant son of Hades Rocket out of Classy Clover accomplished a fabulous hat-trick of victories.
Now, Firecracker Jack is quite confidence to unleash a big run in the Standard Trophy. If he manages to maintain his winning impetus, his chances to finish first will be as high as 95 percent.
However, Oneco Talent can trigger an upset as the G. Ballentine-trained black dog owns a terrific track record. The novice runner elegantly bagged a couple of consecutive triumphs in March 2012. He proceeded to gain a convincing victory on April 23.
Slick Hawk can also do well tonight. If the K. Allsop-trained brindle dog manages to capitalise well on his favourite tag, he will be able to make a big impact in the race.
In real, there will be a tough tug of war between Firecracker Jack and Oneco Talent. Let us see who of the two carries the day. The race will be quite amazing to watch. Good luck to all the runners.
